The protection of devices and components sensitive to electrostatic discharge is based on evening out the electrostatic potential of all parts of the workplace, including workers, to the same level. And therefore the specific resistance of mats and floor plates the same as for other grounded devices and loads, i.e. (Rg) 106 Ω to 109 Ω. The IEC61340-5-1 and ANSI EOS/ESD 6.1 standard require all conductive parts of an anti-static workplace, including persons, to be interconnected at the same grounding point. This evens out the electrostatic potential of the entire anti-static workplace and prevents the step equalization of potential.
Use anti-static mats together with accessories used for connecting all parts of the workplace including a worker at a single grounding point and the safe conduction of static electricity.
