Low-Carbon Aluminum for a Sustainable Future

We are now offering aluminum profiles for our custom-made Topwell and Lawell mats in a version made from low-carbon aluminum. Their main advantage is a significantly reduced carbon footprint - only 3.3 kg CO₂ eq./kg, which is 62% lower than traditional aluminum!

What does the production process of low-carbon aluminum look like?

It involves the recycling of pre-consumer and post-consumer scrap. This valuable material is recycled in the melting process and serves as a raw material for the production of aluminum billets, which are subsequently used in the extrusion process. This reduces the amount of waste and at the same time saves a significant amount of energy that would otherwise be needed to produce primary aluminum from bauxite. What is the problem? Smelting bauxite is very energy-intensive, which is why aluminum recycling is an important step towards more environmentally friendly production processes.

Easier to obtain green building certifications for your projects

The new entrance mats made from this material are therefore the ideal choice for anyone looking for a high-quality and environmentally friendly solution. Our aluminum with a carbon footprint of 3.3 kg CO₂ eq./kg has the status of a European ECO-EPD. Thanks to this, the profiles are recognized by the green building certification systems BREEAM, LEED, and DGNB.

Production from low-carbon aluminum offers a triple advantage: a significantly reduced carbon footprint, more efficient energy use, and for our customers the opportunity to obtain DGNB, LEED, and BREEAM certifications.

We are proud that with this innovation we can contribute to sustainability while continuing to offer products that meet the highest quality standards. The original Topwell and Lawell mats remain in our portfolio and we now also offer new, more environmentally friendly variants.

We believe that together we can contribute to a more sustainable future.
